How do you define success?
To me, success is defined by personal growth and happiness. Everyone has different goals and different methods / timelines for achieving those goals, but to me, success is finding your own road to happiness.
How do you measure your own success?
At this point in time, I measure my own success by the actual amount of content that I’m able to create. As a video producer, I work under tight deadlines and budgets. Being able to churn out creative content quickly, I can see the volume of work I’m producing and feel proud of my portfolio.
How does success feel?
Success feels like the final piece of a puzzle fitting seamlessly into its slot. You’re doing something right and all of the pieces are falling into place.
When was the last time you felt successful? What happened?
The last time I felt successful was when I received a message from a young woman who lived across the world – she told me she was a teacher and that she uses my video series to help inspire her students to be better people. That made me feel as if all of the work I do every day is going to good use and has a deeper meaning that extends beyond pure entertainment value.
How do you celebrate your success?
I celebrate my success by continuing to create. Once I’ve been successful on one project, I dive into my next adventure.
What advice would you offer to someone who wants to be successful?
Keep doing what you love. Also, remember that only you can define what success is. Don’t seek outside approval – strive to make yourself happy.
